Exciting new research!

Have discovered new information about Lancashire cotton mill women emigrating to Perth in 1862, during the cotton famine!

Am also busy applying for Preston Guild Take Off creative grants for further Yardworks project in 2012.

  1. Hello
I thought you might be interested in this seeing as your work looks to be focusing on the North West of England. It sounds like very interesting research and an exciting project.
We are also doing a bit of investigative work ourselves, we have a new photography exhibition open at the gallery. The photographer, Dorothy Bohm, photograhed many faces during the 40’s, faces of Manchester – many of which have no names. They were never recorded. We have begun to investigate this widely and started a blog, appealing to anyone who might have information about the pictures we have. If you are interested, you can find out more here:
http://www.manchestergalleries.org and here Dorothy Bohm in Manchester blog. I wish you good luck with your project!
